Application Architecture & Support Consultant

HCLTech is hiring for an Application Architecture & Support Consultant to join a large-scale enterprise transformation and application support program in Chemnitz, Germany. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with a strong background in application architecture, custom-built applications, production support, and stakeholder management. You will play a key role in driving service transition activities, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting critical business applications in a complex enterprise environment.

• Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)
• Employment Type: FTC / FTE
• Project Duration: 12 Months
• Experience Required: 8+ Years
• Language Requirements: German (C2 required), English (B2 or above)

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, client teams, incumbent vendors, and internal delivery teams.
• Lead knowledge transfer and transition activities to ensure a smooth service takeover.
• Coordinate and support application operations, incident management, and issue resolution.
• Define and align responsibilities, ownership models, support processes, and RACI matrices across stakeholders.
• Validate operational readiness, including documentation, application access, support procedures, and handover requirements.
• Monitor and support custom-built business applications and underlying technical components.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to drive continuous improvement and service stability.
• Analyze architectural dependencies and recommend improvements to application support models.
• Support governance meetings, transition planning, and service reporting activities.
• Ensure adherence to IT service management standards and operational best practices.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong understanding of Application Architecture
• Experience with Full Stack Technologies (Java, Node.js)
• Experience supporting Custom Built Applications
• Strong knowledge of Database Applications
• Expertise in Application Operations & Support
• 8+ years of experience in application support, architecture, or transition programs
• Incident, problem, and change management
• Production support and operational readiness
• Stakeholder management and service transition
• Application integration and dependency management
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting

Nice to Have

• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience in Migration or Transition Projects
• ITIL knowledge or certification
