The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist to support a leading neuroscience service in the South West of England.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy tertiary neuroscience centre, providing specialist diagnostic neuroradiology services within a well-established multidisciplinary team. The post is designed to support the acute neuroradiology service and offers a varied workload encompassing both acute and outpatient neuroradiology reporting.

The successful candidate will undertake predominantly daytime acute neuroradiology sessions, including interpretation of tertiary neuroradiology studies and acute CNS imaging. There is also the opportunity to participate in the neuroradiology on-call rota, covering both adult and paediatric neuroradiology services.

You will be supported by specialist neuroradiology colleagues, Severn School of Radiology registrars, fellowship-level trainees, and established outsourcing arrangements.

The Department

The largest radiology unit in the region and is a major neuroscience centre. The department supports a substantial training programme with 24 Specialist Registrars (SpRs) from the Severn School of Radiology, including fellowship-level trainees in neuroradiology and interventional radiology.

The neuroradiology service provides comprehensive specialist imaging support across both acute and elective pathways, serving adult and paediatric patients within a busy tertiary referral network.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide specialist diagnostic neuroradiology reporting across acute and outpatient services
  • Support the acute neuroradiology service during daytime clinical sessions
  • Report a broad range of CNS imaging studies, including tertiary referrals
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical discussions where required
  • Supervise and support radiology trainees and fellowships within the department
  • Work closely with neurology, neurosurgery, stroke, oncology and wider neuroscience teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
  • Support service development and delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Participate in the neuroradiology on-call rota if required

What We're Looking For

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology (or eligibility for entry)
  • Fellowship training or significant experience in Diagnostic Neuroradiology
  • Recent NHS experience at Consultant level
  • Strong diagnostic reporting skills across acute and elective neuroradiology
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamworking abilities
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a large specialist department
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
